Y’all sharing is caring, and I’m so excited to give you the 4-1-1 for how to achieve the perfect brows.
Okay, so here are a couple of personal fun facts before we dive in:
- In my daily beauty routine I spend the most time on my eye brows.
- My first attempt to shape my eyebrows dates back to fourth grade! I mean listen, this girl is serious about her brows.
- I styled my hair myself (RARE!) and learned how to achieve this knotless high braid technique on YouTube.
Prior to the first step routine maintenance is key!
First things first at minimum I advise that everyone has monthly shaping done to your brows. In other words, what I like to call routine maintenance. So whether that means tweezing, waxing, threading, etc.
Personally, I’ve tried each of these I’ve throughout various periods of my life. I recently transitioned from tweezing to threading. If you’re curious as to why, it’s because I was referred to the beauty provider by someone that I trust and they use an organic thread that does not irritate my sensitive skin.
Step 1: Use a brow definer
Use brow definer with a triangular tip for the ability to precisely outline the brow. The finer the pencil the better. I recently switched to the and defining any other areas as needed. My favorite that I’ve been using for the last 5 years is the Anatasia Brow Definer in the color Dark Brown.
Step 2: Use a brow pencil
Use a brow pencil to to fill in any sparse hairs. The finer the pencil the better. I recently switched to the Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil Ultra-Fine Shape & Define in the color 4.5 Neutral Deep Brown. It’s so good that it’s hard to believe that I ever lived my life without it.
Step 3: Apply brow gel
Apply brow gel to enhance your brow shape. Apply short upward strokes as your final step for a clean polished look. I use Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel.

Bonus Step! Apply organic castor oil nightly to promote growth in sparse areas
For the areas of your brows that need some improvement, at night I recommend applying castor oil. However, if you are going to add this to your beauty routine, I recommend one that’s cold-pressed and organic. I use one from Whole Foods.
