How I’m Recommitting to My Workout & Wellness Goals


Guys, we are officially two months into 2017…SAY WHAT?!?!?!?!

I started this year with so much excitement to press the reset button and create new workout & wellness goals, but recently I hit a wall. As a result, I’ve been slacking for a variety of reasons, some valid others not so much…at least I’m honest! 

On President’s Day I was feeling extremely lazy, but dragged myself to the gym for barre class (after missing the window for the Matinee show of 50 Shades Darker). The personal satisfaction that I felt after completing my workout was just the spark that I needed to recommit to my workout & wellness goals. In effort to make them seem more achievable, I’ve decided to break them down into monthly goals that I can re-evaluate and modify every few weeks.

From now until the end of March, my goal is to visit the gym 4 times per week, take my daily vitamins, increase my water intake, and have regular check-ins with my accountability buddy. This month, I’m focusing on cardio and will be attending a High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class every Saturday morning with one of my favorite instructors.

As a treat to myself to stay motivated, I will integrate some additional workouts to diversify my routine including yoga, spin class, bootcamp, and (fingers crossed if I can work it in) dance class. Of course I know that this journey won’t be easy, but it will certainly be worth it.
