In November, I traveled to Oklahoma City to celebrate my grandma’s birthday. During this trip, I stayed at the 21c Museum Hotel and was blown away by its eclectic aesthetic and the genuine kindness of their staff. I felt like I was staying in an artist residence, which was a nice creative retreat away from my hectic Chicago life.
The rooms were bright and airy with extremely large windows that allowed for beautiful natural light and great selfies. Okay listen, I’m a millennial and I honestly don’t take a bunch, but when the lighting is perfect it feels wrong not to just go for it! What really made this stay so unique were 21c’s small touches like their environmentally friendly practices, the purple penguins, and even the little chocolates that you would find on our pillow after a full day exploring the city.
During my stay, I had a chance to try Mary Eddie’s Kitchen x Lounge for brunch one morning. I had been told that the hash was pretty special here, and I can say for myself that it was incredible. It had a combination of so many wonderful flavors that I wouldn’t initially think to blend together myself but just worked…I suppose that’s why chefs exist. Ah, excuse me while I am temporarily daydreaming about that moment.
One of the really sweet staff members called the two buns in my hair magical, and interestingly enough that word perfectly described how my stay felt at 21c Museum Hotel in Oklahoma City. It was so magical that I felt like my stay ended just a bit too soon. Until next time, 21c Museum Hotel OKC!
